The Town of Telluride requires developers of commercial and multi-family
residential property in the Town of Telluride to mitigate the impacts of the
development by providing affordable housing.
The governing documents for
this program are the Town of Telluride Affordable Housing Guidelines and the
Town of Telluride Affordable Housing Deed Restriction and Covenants.
Developers may chose to either construct new affordable housing or
deed-restrict an existing property.
The Housing Authority works with the
Town of Telluride and developers to bring proposed units into the Town's
Affordable Housing program. This includes conducting a physical inspection
of units and preparing the necessary paperwork for executing the deed
restriction. The Housing Authority is also responsible for determining
eligibility for persons interested in purchasing an Affordable Housing unit.
Similar to other local programs, the Town's Affordable Housing program requires
owner occupancy and restricts the re-sale appreciation value of the unit.
Please refer to the
Town of Telluride Affordable Housing Guidelines for more
complete information concerning ownership and occupancy regulations.
